Metro Riots

Metro Riots is a four-piece alternative rock group hailing from London, England, that formed in 2003. They have appeared live with bands such as The Melvins, Juliette Lewis and the Licks, MC5, The Charlatans, Dirty Pretty Things, DFA, and The Libertines.
==History==
Their first album release was an EP in 2004, titled ''And So...the Tyrants were Loose''. The EP gained them acclaim with the music press. In 2006, their single "When You're Gone", was released, the first under the label Eleven78 Records. "When You're Gone" earned Single of the week in The Sun newspaper and Xfm Radio London 104.9fm (the John Kennedy Show). Metro Riots then toured the UK twice with Dirty Pretty Things, followed by a European tour with Juliette Lewis and the Licks. They returned to England for a solo tour, and recorded their debut album ''Night Time Angel Candy'' at the now defunct Rockfields Studios with producer Pedro Ferriera.
Their song "Modern Romance" is featured heavily in the 2006 video game Urban Chaos: Riot Response for Xbox and PlayStation 2. It can be heard at the game's title as well as several other screens of the game. Because of the song's prevalence, fans of the game consider it to be its theme song.
"Thee Small Faces" was featured in the playlist for the video game 'Need For Speed: Carbon' (2006).
In 2007 the first single "New Epidemic" was released, followed by an appearance at the SXSW festival in Texas. They followed this with another tour of Europe with Juliette Lewis and the Licks. The second single "Poison the Bride" was accompanied by a music video which was refused play by music video networks. In August 2007, Metro Riots released their debut album ''Night Time Angel Candy''.
In 2009 the members of Metro Riots announced they will no longer record or play under that name anymore, and after being away recording new demos, have a new group "Antlered Man", which is a heavier, darker and almost psychedelic-sounding group. The band plan to gig summer 2009 and release something new with a yet-to-be-confirmed label and who they are going to have on production duties this time.
